Music has been a big part of my life since the moment it began. I was brought to Metallica and Black Sabbath concerts before I was even born, and moments after my parents found out I existed, my dad began playing songs for me on his guitar–ones he wrote and “Hotel California” by the Eagles—and didn’t stop until he divorced my mom when I was almost 8 years old.
My name is Kira Mason.
I am a sarcastic teenager who adores singing (in a choir and in my shower), learning songs by my favorite artists on my crappy Casio keyboard, and scrolling through my Twitter feed. I recently discovered my deep appreciation for everything from camera angles to the editing of my favorite shows and movies.
These are the things I love most in this world—in no particular order:
- Rock/indie/rap music and practically anything in between
- Well-written TV shows, e.g. Sherlock and The Walking Dead
- Films like Coraline, Arrival, and everything Marvel
Although writing assignments are the antagonists of the story of my life, I am excited to be able to write about what I love most.
So… sit back with a bowl of popcorn, play your favorite album, and read on!
